Diaper bags are a hot item now. No longer relegated to a frumpy bag, consumers have flocked to an amazing array of colorful and functional bags. Top brands include OiOi , Kalencom , Skip Hop, Fleurville, Mia Bossi, and JP Lizzy. Custom prints, rich leather, straps and buckles just like a Kooba purse, for instance, are standard on many bags.
Take for example, a really sexy and fun item such as a Mia Bossi Diaper Bag. This was a splurge of mine from a little while back. We can be excited about our purchases now and then, can’t we! And hello, this is seriously an “I mean business ” kind of bag! Two neat things it has that I enjoy are a cell phone holder and a keychain holder (so you aren’t fumbling for your keys in the bottom of the bag. And believe me, sometimes you’re NOT putting the keys in your purse, but rather they time after time in the diaper bag!).
Plenty more is part of this bag of tricks- a baby wipe holder, private zippered pocket for personal belongings, and straps that are adjustable and detachable to strap around a stroller. A machine-washable changing pad, zip in and zip out inside lining with additional inserts to hold a laptop or a small daily planner…whew. But ladies, what does it all matter if it doesn’t look good, really. And these are good looking items. I guarantee you will get multiple compliments about this bag. Who knew? But here’s the fun thing. You certainly don’t have to spend a bucket-load just to get the style you want with the function and practicality that you need. Some bags can go for $125 - $550. But you can absolutely get an great bag for $65 as well. Like from where?
How about the Kalencom line…It has some great colors that are funky and chic while still being playful. It’s got adjustable shoulder straps, outside pockets, a handy insulated bottle bag, a big cushiony changing pad that folds out easily, and has a super handy magnetic strap to close the top. This is really convenient and welcome when your hands are full taking care of baby! This line of bags is a great deal in my opinion priced between $50 and $75.
The OiOi line is in between the price ranges of the bags above. Being from Australia, these bags have a little difference influence and it shows in the dynamic color choices. Big bold prints help give this brand a distinct look. It’s become a very hot item in the mom community as well. These range from $110 to $250. They come with some great looking patterns and styles. If you are a mom or parent thinking about a little more flair, or if boldness comes naturally to you, these bags may be for you. They offer many of the same features and looks as the truly high end bags, but without the sky high prices.
So whether your fashion leanings are more toward conservative hues and practical tones, or wow-factor colors with bold design and head-turning looks, a bag is out there for you to grab hold and enjoy!
